My business partners and I operate a medium sized property development company on the outskirts of London. We wanted to write to you to thank you for bringing to our attention such a useful and well developed product.
We were experiencing some problems with our previous bookkeeping software before using Speed-e-books Pro. The time it was taking to process transactions into the system and then to try and do anything afterwards, such as bank reconciliations or VAT returns was stressful to say the least.
I must admit that we were a little dubious at first switching away from one of the bigger software brands but after looking at the specification and features of your product carefully we soon realised that it did everything we wanted it to do. In fact, what we particularly like about the product is that it doesn’t try and do too much, all of which we don’t really need.
Our experience here when we started to use the program was how quick it was to get started. There was a definite level of confidence created in using the software as it’s very easy to get stuck in. It is true to say we were up and running in about 15 minutes. Furthermore, it is so easy to use that I can now do the books of the company myself. This is invaluable for knowing what is going on within the business and for keeping a closer control of costs.
You may or may not be aware that within the construction industry the subject of accounting for VAT is a complex area. We managed with our previous bookkeeping software to get ourselves into a right mess. With Speed-e-books Pro we have managed to implement a fantastic system using the Job and Activity Number function to track differing rates of VAT on the various projects we work on. We then adjust our quarterly VAT Return in a matter of minutes for any necessary Partial Exemption / Mixed Rate Development VAT accounting. Okay, I did get some help from our accountant to set-up the VAT accounting but the thoughtful layout and power-functionality of your software has proved to be invaluable to our business as I am sure it will be to others.
Since we first started using Speed-e-books we have saved at least 2 days a month doing the books, fantastic.
