Can your accounting year start period be any date or does the software only use from the beginning of a month?

You can start and end your accounting / financal periods at any dates you want to. Unlike other accounting programs you are not asked to set this parameter at the point of installation. You have complete flexibility to enter as much or as little data you want into any period.
